Meet Brian Lack
Hi! My name is Brian Lack, and I make cool shit for cool people.
Specifically, here at LV Laser Engraving, we use laser to cut designs into firearms parts. In this post, I want to share with you how this project came to exist, where I came from, and just what we can do to take your guns from cool to kick-ass.
How I Got Into Engraving
I’ve been around guns my whole life — I’ve been shooting paintballs and firearms since I was just a kid — but I didn’t really catch the bug until around ten years ago, when I inherited my grandfather’s old service revolver. That piece became the first of more than I care to count or admit.
I didn’t start out knowing that this was going to become my passion. I have history in IT, computer networking, web programming, and graphic design. But when I learned that laser engraving used similar graphics files I was already familiar with, I decided to try it as a hobby, putting custom designs on my own guns and doing some for friends on the side. Once I got into it, this turned into something way bigger. I found my passion here, putting together awesome project after awesome project.
From Hobby to Shop
What started on my own guns and a few for friends turned into Las Vegas Laser Engraving. My background in graphic design and computer work turned out to be a huge advantage — laser engraving lives and dies on clean files and precise setup, and that’s exactly the kind of work I already knew how to do. These days I split my time between engraving, Cerakote coating, and building out the shop so we can take on more of what our customers bring us.

Beyond firearms, we engrave metal, wood, glass, acrylic, and just about anything else you bring in — gifts, awards, corporate branding, you name it. If you’ve got an idea, bring it in and let’s talk through it.

Why I Do This
Every piece that comes through the shop is a little different — a family heirloom, a competition gun, a gift for someone’s retirement, a build someone’s been planning for years. I like being the guy who gets to put the finishing touch on something that means something to the person holding it. That’s really the whole reason Las Vegas Laser Engraving exists.

Do you do all the engraving yourself? I’m hands-on with most projects that come through the shop, and I work closely with my team on everything else so the quality stays consistent.
What if I don’t have a design yet? That’s most people. Bring me your idea, even a rough one, and we’ll work through it together before anything gets engraved.
